.out for a jog.
i don't remember myself jogging at night before, and i am surprised how comfortable and easy it is! maybe it's the breeze and it happened to be less humid tonight.
it took me 50 minutes to cover my 10+km run, and surprisingly, i was't dead shagged after that. in fact, I felt damn shiok. singapore bi, here i come.
from my estate, i decided to try out new routes. i ran past HDBs, underpass, bridge, PIE, dangerous roads and I accidentally pushed somebody out of my way. ha. I ran to places which I thought could only be reached by wheels. so wrong.
My last destination was my old school :- The present St Andrew's Village. As I ran past the school, memories started flashing back- lots of memories.
I remembered the path which I always had to run during PE lessons ( I dreaded it then ). The roads where my primary school pals and I used to play catching. The big fields where we used to play all sort of sports. The SAS bridge which I used to walk almost everyday with my friends, chatting away happily. The damn dirty river which I used to throw cans of coke in. The old ulu bus stop behind my old primary school where I would take 153 all the way to Hougang and then changed to 111 or 97 to go home. ( I realise I was damn retarded because I went ONE whole round ) The haunted toilets and library in the old primary school. The Char Kway Tiao uncle. The big bell in the old SAS. Recess time where we had a table to hang out at. The pull-up bars.
Somehow, most of these people whom I have spent my primary/secondary school life with have all gone on seperate ways. i was really close to some before, but now we are like total strangers. how weird life can be sometimes. however, these people will always be part of my memories at least.
i miss my good old school days. i was really a nerd, a mummy's boy, ugly and fat. i wasn't sporty, i had curly hair ( i still do ), i went home after school everyday, and i wasn't exactly good at anything. no GEP, no fantastic grades, and no school life. I was quite a rich brat though, having my mum fetching me to school with my dad's jag then. ha. and..i remember the punch i got from Z, because of a paper swan. WTF!
i realise i have changed so much compared to some of my peers out there, and i am pretty pleased & contented now.
I thank my parents for everything i have now, and of course, the opportunities and experiences i had gotten over the years. these are what that moulded me in what i am today. i am thankful.
